Walking up the steepest stairs from the Pont du Winston Churchill after a magical day in the park - Parc Tete D'or (Park of the Golden Head) back home to Croix-Rousse, there are the wildest frescoes, murals, taking me back to the land of Alala and psychedelic illustrations.....

A truly incredible tree stump like a rotten egg, wooden sphinx, Munch's scream, alien head, post-apocalyptic monster, soft matter, brutal nature.....

Have always admired this tile work on the boathouses in the park, where you rent paddle, row or motor boats....

From the plane from JFK > London, bored and flying...

Croix Roussien shadows

Within the sky, soaring through clouds in a big metal hornet...

airplane selfie in Harper's hat

Not Yayoi Kusama but still, lovely polka dots...

Row boaters on view....

Our paddle boat happiness, pedalling to the Isle du Souvenir, an island with an exquisite monument to the WWI war dead (other wars added as they were fought)

Some of the countless names of the war dead; in 1999 these names were disappearing, possibly sandstone, worn away, (I have Rolleiflex negatives/photos of this) some names had been hand-repainted; now they have been replaced with new marble slabs of remembrance....

One of the most impressive war monuments of memory I have ever seen...

reflections/shadows of my Monaco (beer + grenadine) at the Gros Caillou..

Oh the pleasure of the carousel.......

Barbarpapa = cotton candy = these are "minis" - sticky couds of sweet heaven for the kids.....

A BEAR!!!! A BEAR!!!!! A BEAR!!!!! Harper;s favorite animal of all time - we watched him roll in the water and then he emerged straight towards us and blew a kiss to Harpereeno.....
